i was overwhelmed by the very friendly greeting on arrival (you would be surprised that you dont get that everywhere you stay). The use of the lifts and eating arrangements clearly explained. I liked the soundproofing of the room which to me is very important. when i went to the restaurant the menu was varied to suit all tastes. the food was delectable, high standards to say the least. the wait and bar staff were very friendly to everyone, as it is a public restaurant, and very helpful when giving recommendations. the breakfast cafe again had a wide range of food and drink choices. the pancakes were very delicious. you are only say 100m away from the main shopping precinct and theatre so once you have parked in the underground carpark you can walk to almost everywhere.

The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable the disabled unit had all we needed except for and extra towel often needed for wheelchair persons. No problems getting one though. The food was nice but there was no sizing options I would have liked a little more options for breakfast as some people have a small serve and others want to have a big breakfast to get them through the day having one hot and one drink option was a bit mean I mean I couldn't have a second coffee even the mug size was a bit small and I could not add fruit to my order without extra cost

My initial booking was for two single beds. Later I rang to request an accessible bathroom, as I was travelling with my elderly mother. In responding to the accessible bathroom, the hotel initially forgot about the single beds. However, they were able to change our room to one that met both criteria. We were disappointed when we went down to breakfast to find that the chef hadn’t turned up for work, so there were no fresh meals available. Fortunately the hotel had a supply of prepared meals which sufficed.

We booked a 2 bedroom room, it was a spacious room (Room 516) Beds were firm, comfy and sheets were very clean. Microwave, fridge, kettle and a few utensils to use. Lots of towels for 4 people. Small balcony you could open and enjoy the street view. The location of this Oaks was great. Walking distance to the main restaurant and touristy strip, lots of shops and a block away from Grand Central. Kids used the lap pool.

Camielle

Location was excellent for everything we wanted. Shopping in Town, show at the Empire, Gardens, markets and attractions, numerous options for meals and dining all in very close access. Set right between historic town, buildings and shops and the new shopping district of Grand Central Shopping Mall. Bed was generous and very comfortable and the room was also very spacious comfortable and serviceable for all needs.
